Unidentified Shoshoni Indian man in ceremonial costume during a blessing ceremony, circa 1990, of the Elkhorn excavation which occurred in the seventies. He is from the Fort Hall Indian Reservation. No recorded date.
Description: 
The man is wearing a feathered headdress with his hair woven with beads. His costume includes a beadwork and leather fringe. He is kneeling and holding a staff the is adorned with feathers and a bird head at the top. The bird head looks like an eagle. The feathers are large and long like eagle feathers.

These are the images from the photo morgue of the Wood River Journal which was preceeded by the Hailey Times, the Wood River News, the Wood River Miner, and the Wood River Times. Many of the older images were obtained over the years from the Community Library's archive and are duplicate copies. Other than a few older photographs the date that the collection really begins is 1950.
